PUBLIC SPEAKING & MEDIA TRAINING PROGRAMS
CJones & Associates’ public speaking training is based on the simple idea that your voice is an instrument. Addressing an audience during a speaking engagement is comparable to singing an aria during an musical theater performance. This concept works for the experience professional who wants to brush up on his or her technique or the novice who is petrified about being in front of a large audience.
We help you overcome the fear and find your voice. We have developed a time-proven program designed to help you with individual preparation, message development, and handling tough questions.
Skill-building sessions focus on how to:
- Identify your audience
- Know your purpose
- Create talking points
- Craft supporting statements and relatable stories
- Mark your script
- Understand nonverbal communication
- Grab your audience in the first 30 seconds and never let go
- Handle one-on-one, broadcast and print interviews
Our sessions are conducted on-camera giving you the opporunity to practice your skills and evaluate your performance.
Media training sessions are more intensive and dig deeper into how you are coveying messages to your target audience. We also discuss how the media works and how to handle reporters with tough questions. Instructor Charles Jones is a former broadcast journalist who has been on both sides of the microphone. He takes you into the mind of the reporter and helps you determine how to phrase your position so it has the most meaningful impact.
The media training agenda :
- Understanding the media - "What is News?"
- Identifying the 12 different interviewing styles
- How to bridge and flag your messages
- Turning negatives into positives
- Power Words
- How to handle print interviews
- How to handle broadcast interviews
After completing our nationally recognized program, you will be prepared, positive and most importantly in control.
